What level do you reach after 10 hours of lessons?
Ten hours is the complete learning package — the one that leads to independence. The programme covers the full progression: theory and safety, kite control, body dragging with and without the board, water starts, then riding on both tacks and going upwind, the key skill that lets you return to your starting point. By the end of the course, most students ride independently on safe water and can consider hiring equipment or taking their certification.
How are the 10 hours spread across my stay?
The course usually runs over 4 to 5 days, in sessions of 2 to 3 hours, scheduled according to the wind forecast. This spacing is deliberate: it gives you time to absorb each stage, spares your arms and shoulders, and maximises your chances of good conditions. Your instructor adjusts timings day by day, favouring the slots when the thermal wind is most favourable — often the afternoon.
Do I get a certification at the end of the course?
Depending on the partner school, the course can lead to a recognised certification such as IKO or VDWS, confirming your level and making it easier to hire equipment worldwide. Issuing it depends on the level you actually reach and may involve an additional fee. Mention your interest when booking: the instructor will shape the progression accordingly and tell you which skills need to be validated.
