FAQs
What exactly does parasailing involve?
Parasailing means being lifted into the air beneath a parachute-shaped canopy, towed behind a speedboat. You are secured into a harness, then the boat accelerates and you lift off gently from the rear platform. You glide over the sea at an altitude of 40 to 80 metres, with panoramic views of Djerba’s beaches, hotels and turquoise waters. The flight is surprisingly calm and quiet — there is no free fall and no sudden drop sensation.
Do I need to swim or have previous experience?
No experience is required and you don’t need to be a strong swimmer. Take-off and landing happen directly from the boat, so you stay dry on most flights. A life jacket and certified harness are provided, and the crew briefs you fully before departure. If you’d like a “dipping” — dipping your feet into the water at the end of the flight — simply ask the crew.
How long is the flight and can two people fly together?
You spend around 10 to 15 minutes in the air, with the full activity taking about 1 hour including welcome, safety briefing, equipment and the boat ride. Flying in tandem is absolutely possible, and even in threes depending on combined weight — ideal for couples, friends, or a parent with their child. Flying together is also reassuring for a first experience.
Is there a minimum age, weight limit or any restrictions?
The activity is open from around 8 to 10 years old, with minors flying accompanied by an adult or with parental consent. Total supported weight is generally between 40 and 150 kg, depending on the canopy setup and wind conditions. Parasailing is not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart conditions or back and spine problems, or anyone who has had recent surgery. If in doubt, the crew will advise you on site.
What happens in bad weather and when is the best time to fly?
Safety comes first: if the wind is too strong or the sea too rough, the flight is postponed or fully refunded. The best season runs from April to October, with optimal conditions in the morning when the wind is most stable and the sea calmest. Late afternoon offers beautiful light for photos. Bring a swimsuit, sunscreen and securely fastened sunglasses. Also make sure your phone is secured — photos and videos are usually offered as an optional extra by the crew.

Une expérience aérienne sensationnelle à Djerba !
Mon expérience de parachutisme à l'île de Djerba avec Djerba Guide a été absolument incroyable ! C'était ma première fois en parachute, et l'équipe de Djerba Guide a été très professionnelle et rassurante tout au long du processus.
